# How outbound works in Ghost

> An overview of Ghost outbound: campaigns, sequences of LinkedIn and email steps, how sending is paced and scheduled, what stops a sequence, and where each part lives in the app.

Outbound is how Ghost reaches people for you: connection requests, LinkedIn messages and emails, paced like a careful person would send them, stopped when someone replies.

**Where to find it:** sidebar → **Outbound → Campaigns**. Replies are in **Outbound → Inbox**.

## How sending works

- Ghost checks every few minutes for steps that are due and sends them, spread through the day.
- Sends happen in your **working hours: roughly 09:00 to 19:00** in your timezone. The start and end shift by up to an hour each day so the pattern isn't robotic.
- Each LinkedIn profile has its own **daily limits** for invites and messages, and your mailbox has its own email limit. See [Limits and safety](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/outbound/limits-and-safety).
- Weekends run at **50%** of weekday volume by default.
- Higher [Lead Score](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/find/lead-score) contacts are sent to first.

## What stops a sequence

| Event | What happens |
|-------|--------------|
| They reply on LinkedIn | Their sequence stops in **all** your campaigns, and they appear in your [Inbox](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/outbound/inbox) and [Pipeline](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/pipeline/overview). Replies are checked about every 30 minutes and again just before each send. |
| They reply by email | Their sequence stops in all your campaigns, as long as [email lead capture](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/pipeline/email-capture) is switched on. Out-of-office and other auto-replies don't count. |
| You message them from their deal | Their sequence pauses |
| A meeting with them is booked | Their sequence pauses (if that setting is on) |
| You blacklist them | They're skipped |
| They're already connected | The invite step is skipped |
| They don't accept your invite | After 7–28 days the invite is withdrawn, and they move to your email route if you have one |

> **Tip:** If your sequences include email steps, switch on **email lead capture** in **Pipeline → Settings**. That's how Ghost reads replies to your emails and stops the sequence.

## FAQ

### Is outbound available on my plan?

Yes. Outbound is part of the full Ghost plan and the 7-day trial. You need to [connect LinkedIn](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/getting-started/connect-linkedin) to send.

### Does Ghost send anything without my approval?

No. Every campaign is created as a draft, including ones built by the Agent Campaign, Ghost Agent or your AI assistant. Nothing sends until you switch it on.
