# Connect Ghost to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants (MCP)

Ghost runs a remote **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** server. Connect it to your AI assistant and you can run Ghost in plain English: find prospects, build campaigns, answer replies, move deals, draft follow-ups and schedule posts, without opening the app.

The MCP server is included on every plan.

You'll also find it, with a copy button, in **Settings → API**. It uses the Streamable HTTP transport over HTTPS.

## Two ways to sign in

Both give the same tools and act as you. The MCP server always works in **your own workspace**: it can't reach a team or agency client workspace you've been added to. Use the [Ghost Agent](https://www.growwithghost.io/docs/agent/overview) inside the app for those.

## Claude Desktop and claude.ai

1. Go to **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**.
2. Paste the server URL above.
3. Claude opens Ghost in your browser. Sign in with your usual Ghost login.
4. On **Connect Claude to Grow with Ghost**, click **Approve & connect**.
5. Back in Claude, try: *"List my campaigns."*

Connection links last 10 minutes and work once. If yours has expired, start again from Claude.

## ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor and other clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers works the same way: add a custom connector or MCP server, paste the URL, and sign in to Ghost when asked.

## Claude Code

Add the server, then run `/mcp` in Claude Code and choose it to sign in to Ghost:

## Safety

- Every request is limited to your own workspace.
- Your AI app decides when to ask you before using a tool. Ghost's own approval cards are part of the in-app Ghost Agent, not the MCP server, so ask your assistant to draft and show you before anything sends, especially while you're getting started.
- Daily LinkedIn limits, blacklists, Trash and your credit balance are enforced by Ghost, whatever the assistant asks for.
- Text written by other people (replies, posts, meeting notes) is returned as data, never as instructions.

### Which AI assistants work with Ghost?

Claude (Desktop, claude.ai and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor and any other client that supports remote MCP servers.

### Is the MCP server an extra cost?

No. It's included on every Ghost plan. Actions still use your normal credits and daily limits.

### Can my assistant send messages without asking me?

That depends on your AI app's settings. Most ask before using tools that take actions, and you can tell your assistant to always show you the exact text first. Daily limits, blacklists and credit balances are enforced by Ghost either way.
